About Loryn M. Lawson
Loryn M. Lawson is Senior Counsel with the Firm and primarily handles commercial litigation matters with an emphasis in employment law. Ms. Lawson earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Virginia and her Juris Doctor from Catholic University, Columbus School of Law. While attending Catholic University, Columbus School of Law, Ms. Lawson was a Student Attorney for the Families and the Law Clinic. Ms. Lawson represented domestic violence victims in attaining temporary civil protection orders and divorces, as well as other domestic relations issues. She was also a Legal Intern for the United States Department of Justice, Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Section in Washington, D.C. where she conducted research on extraterritorial issues in the field of criminal law. In 2003 Ms. Lawson served as judicial clerk for Honorable Vincent LeBlon of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex County, Civil Division.
Ms. Lawson regularly represents management in all types of employment related matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage & hour issues, as well as other business-related torts before the State Courts and Administrative Agencies. In addition to litigation, Ms. Lawson regularly counsels employers in connection with the development and implementation of employment policies, the development and updating of employee handbooks, along with other employment management issues. Ms. Lawson also frequently negotiates and drafts various forms of employment agreements, including nondisclosure agreements, severance agreements and non-solicitation agreements.
